I graduated from the University of Guelph-Humber with a degree in Kinesiology and Fitness and Health Promotion. I was always into fitness at a young age and while I was in school, I started my career as a personal trainer to help people with their fitness goals. Years later, I decided I wanted to provide more value to my clients and that’s when I decided to jump into massage therapy and enrolled in the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy. After finishing my massage school journey, I found that I could blend both professions seamlessly. It’s been fantastic in helping me deliver even better results and meet my clients’ needs.

Get to know me!

When I’m not working, you can usually find me at the gym, where I’m all about weight training – a mix of powerlifting and bodybuilding movements. And on my days off, I love spending time in nature, going on long hikes to relax and recharge.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

Thanks to my background and experience as a personal trainer, I’ve developed a solid grasp of movement analysis and postural correction. These skills are especially relevant in today’s tech-driven world, where many of us constantly use phones and laptops with less-than-ideal posture. When I combine this knowledge with my hands-on massage therapy skills, I can effectively tackle a wide range of musculoskeletal issues and provide knowledge to patients to improve posture. After each treatment, if needed, I provide exercise recommendations and create a customized treatment plan to address the main concern. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a spa setting, where I’ve learned to infuse a sense of relaxation and flow into my treatments, ensuring a soothing and therapeutic experience for my clients.

What are top 3 treatments you specialize in ?

My top 3 treatments I specialize in are deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and sports massage.

Deep Tissue Massage: Deep tissue massage is a technique that targets deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to release tension and relieve chronic muscle pain.

Trigger Point Therapy: Trigger point therapy involves applying pressure to specific points of muscle knots (trigger points) to alleviate pain and improve muscle function.

Sports Massage: Sports massage is tailored to athletes and focuses on enhancing performance, preventing injuries, and promoting muscle recovery through a combination of techniques.

What are you proud of in your practice?

I’ve had the pleasure of motivating many people with sedentary lifestyles to make healthier choices when it comes to their fitness and posture through massage. I believe in not only providing relief during the session but also educating my clients about the importance of movement and the potential issues that can arise from being too sedentary, like posture problems and muscular imbalances. My approach doesn’t stop at the massage table; I love to empower my clients with knowledge and tips they can use in their daily lives to maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I find great satisfaction in treating musculoskeletal pain cases. I thoroughly enjoy the process of assessing and pinpointing the root cause of pain, much like a detective solving a mystery. It involves investigating each aspect and developing a treatment plan that leads to effective rehabilitation. Witnessing patients become pain-free through the implementation of well-structured rehab protocols is very rewarding to me a s a health-care practitioner.
